Dr. Keith Nicholl was born in Northumberland, UK but has spent most of his life in the Tayside region of Scotland.

After a career as an aeronautical engineer, he decided to switch to medicine and qualified from the University of Dundee in 1980. He has practiced in Dubai for 34 years. He completed his postgraduate training in paediatrics in Scotland. He is a general paediatrician with a special interest in paediatric infectious disease. He also took time out from paediatrics to qualify as a G.P. in Dundee, Scotland.

Whilst in the UK he combined his clinical work with teaching clinical paediatrics and has taught medical students, nurses and midwifes from most of the Scottish medical schools.

Dr. Keith Nicholl is a Founder Member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (UK) and holds the Diploma in Child Health from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. He is also a co-founder and member of the editorial board of the medical journal Middle East Paediatrics.
A keen sportsman (in his former years!) Keith played senior rugby in Cornwall, captained the Dundee University Medics, and played for Sharjah Wanderers and Dubai Exiles, after moving to the UAE. Also, a keen long-distance runner, he has competed in many of the major marathons in the UK.

He is known for his down-to-earth approach to medicine, committed to giving first-class care with the minimum of intervention and the avoidance of over-medication.
