Dr. Barbara Vercauteren

Dr. Barbara Vercauteren is a Belgian trained Specialist Family Medicine doctor and is a member of the Belgian Board “Ordre des Médecins / Orde der Artsen”.

She graduated as a Physician from KULeuven in Belgium, one of the most prestigious research universities in Europe. After internships in Internal Medicine, Gynaecology, Family Medicine, Surgery, Paediatrics and Psychiatry she then went on to specialize in Family Medicine at the KULeuven.

She worked as a Specialist Family Medicine doctor and pediatrician at various clinics in Belgium, prior to moving with her family to Dubai.

“I believe every individual should have her/his own regular doctor, especially in a fast-moving place like Dubai. In doing so, it allows a relationship to develop, which in turn means the doctor can carry out the necessary care of the patient having the necessary background information. Keeping the full medical history central is of utmost importance for the best diagnosis and treatment. It improves patient care, outcome and satisfaction. It is up to the family doctor to refer the patient to various specialists and to process their feedback.
