The MBSR 8 Week Program
Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is an 8 week program that teaches practical meditation skills to help enhance our quality of life physically, emotionally and mentally. Developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Medical Centre (USA) in 1979, the programme is now being taught in over 250 hospitals world-wide as well as in corporations, schools and health-centres.
Research has demonstrated that regular mindfulness meditation practice brings about measurable changes in brain functions associated with memory, sense of self, empathy and stress.

Weekly instruction in mindfulness meditation techniques in a non- religious context

Group discussion and activities encouraging self-discovery and awareness

Strategies to help deal with everyday challenges of stress, anxiety and chronic pain

Gentle stretching and mindful movementDaily home assignments, work book and practice recordings

About Martine Nates – The Facilitator

Martine has been practicing mindfulness meditation for over 20 years and trained in MBSR with Bangor University (UK). She is a well-respected Acupuncturist with over 20 years’ experience, specialising in stress-related conditions, pain, addictions, fertility and pregnancy. She has been working and living in Dubai for the past 9 years with her husband and 2 daughters.
